What customers say?

“ We stumbled across Cotto almost by accident and we were so very warmly welcomed. The food was incredibly delicious and I had the best cacio e pepe I’ve had in a long time (this includes from Italy!). My partner is Italian and he thought it was just incredible. He also had a very scrumptious and perfectly authentic burrata. The polpette were also very special. Safe to say, this place is an absolute gem and I highly recommend! ”

“ Fabulous little restaurant which serves fantastic food and great wines & beers. We booked a lunchtime slot and it didn’t disappoint. Homemade spaghetti dish for mains and scallops to start, both absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a pleasant ambience and atmosphere, the most lovely and friendly staff and the owner is very accommodating and stops to have a chat with his customers. We did stop a couple of evenings for drinks only and that was very pleasant too. The amount of people turned away at the door without a booking was frequent, I’d definitely recommend booking online if you want to dine. On our list of restaurants to revisit next time we’re in Bristol. ”

“ Wow, what a gem!! Loved our visit in every way so much so we came back at the end of the day. Dom and Magda were great and Dom makes the best cocktails, tell him what you like, trust him and leave him to it! Perfection!! ”

“ Cosy Italian wine bar and restaurant, we came for supper, the food was tasty, the wine we selected was great and the whole visit to Cotto was very enjoyable. The menu itself is small, just a few dishes, mainly pasta and risotto; the wine menu has some interesting options at a fair price. We enjoyed the pasta with squid and ink sauce, it was delicious. The risotto was excellent but the portion size was a bit small, not what I would have expected for a main dish; actually in all the dishes the portios were on the small side, a bit more would have been perfect. We also tried the special pasta of the day with peas and bacon and it was lovely. The service was very attentive and everything is freshly cooked literally in front of your eyes; it's a cozy restaurant and we sat right by the open kitchen area. Lovely restaurant, well worth a visit ”

“ If you’re going to go anywhere in Bristol, go here. The food was absolutely incredible and worth a trip to Bristol just for that. I had braised ox cheek and truffle pasta and it was probably the best thing on the menu. So delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for a larger group. Also knowledgeable and our waiter seemed to enjoy his role and was lovely. The desserts were amazing too. There is a very small bathroom and what i thought was a comically small sink but it’s fine and usable all the same. The atmosphere is warm and intimate even with a larger group. It’s probably more suited for couples as it has a romantic, cosy vibe. It’s the type of place you can order anything on the menu and know you’re about to have an amazing meal. Cannot recommend enough. ”

“ cozy and quaint restaurant located along st stephen’s street! high quality pasta dishes, i loved the duck ragu which was so flavourful and had a rich flavour. the various elements in the dish like the cabbage and oranges really brought the dish together. would pass on the seafood fregola next time, it had a really strong seafoody flavour which i felt would better match with another pasta shape. overall would highly recommend for quality food on date night! ”

“ Yesterday, my friend and I went to Cotto and had a wonderful time. The appetizers were perfect, the wine was excellent, and the only small issue was that my friend’s pasta was a little salty. However, the staff were incredibly kind. Magda deserves special praise, she is very friendly and such a lovely person. The restaurant is lucky to have her; she truly makes a difference. They also kindly offered us dessert for free as a thoughtful gesture. We loved the experience and will definitely come back many more times. ”

“ Only had a few bites as we were looking for more of a 'snack' but they were very good. Left me wishing that we had been later and stayed for dinner. Definitely worth a visit. ”
